Hello Angels, Bosley, Mr. X and the UnNamed One,

A lot has happened this week for two of the NASCAR Winston Cup drivers.  First, John Andretti was let go by Petty Enterprises, and then Hooters Restaurants (who are best known for their wings….YEA RIGHT…LOL) told Brett Bodine that today’s race will be their last for sponsorship from the restaurant chain.  For Bodine, he didn’t even get that as he had a hard crash yesterday in practice and had to sit out today’s race.  His brother Geoffrey Bodine drove the race too, but broke the rear end of the car after a pit stop.

No one of our teams were hurt by the two events this week which is good, however what is not good is that Sabrina (Susan) and Julie (Jen T) are still the GOLDEN CABOOSE award recipients this week for again failing to register their drivers for the race.  BUT, Sabrina did address her plan to join us for next weeks race at Sonoma.  Julie, hopefully you plan to join Sabrina in her “comeback tour” of the Charlie’s Angels Fantasy Racing League.

UnNamed One (Ray), I’m going to start with what went right for you today….Kurt Busch and Matt Kenseth.  They finished 1st and 4th respectively.  That’s about all that went right for you because your Dave Blaney crashed on lap 11 and finished 38th.  Definitely not helping you today is Greg Biffle and Dale Jarrett, finishing 31 and 32 respectively.  Biffle was running fine and even made up a lap after cutting a tire early in the race…but it wasn’t meant to be because he crashed late in the race.  Jarrett just missed the setup and couldn’t do anything with his car.  Regardless, your average finish of 21.2 isn’t as disastrous as it could’ve been.  Better luck next week.

Jill (Jennie), Your day wouldn’t have been that bad, had Ryan Newman’s car not exploded in a ball of flames on lap 37. Newman, who walked away from the fire and smoke, finished 41st.  Jarrett’s 31st didn’t help you too much either.  Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon round out your team with 16th, 8th, and 3rd place finishes respectively.  Your average finish is an even 20.  Better luck next week.

Kris (Peggy), Ward Burton was running in the top-15 when he entered pit road for what could’ve been the last time in the race.  When he left his pitbox, an extra 15 seconds after everyone else left the pits, he was in 30st spot where he stayed until the checkered flag was waving.  Jimmy Spenser didn’t help you in any way with his 29th place finish.  Bill Elliott’s broken foot hurt him today with his 24th place finish.  Your best drivers are Earnhardt and Gordon finishing 7th and 3rd respectively.  Your average finish is 18.6.  Better luck next week.

As for my drivers, the only one who had an an aweful day was Kyle Petty who was one of the first cars running to get lapped.  He finished 34th.  Joe Nemachek had some car problems and could only must a 21st place finish.  Jimmie Johnson finished 16th and Kenseth and Gordon finished 4th and 3rd respectively.  My average finish is 16 even.

Mr. X (Dave), With the exception of Dale Jarrett and Jimmy “Mongo” Spencer, you would’ve been just fine…As I mentioned before, Jarrett had set-up problems, and Spencer could only muster his 29th place finish.  Other than that, your day was stellar with Stewart’s 8th, Kenseth’s 4th and Bobby Labonte’s 2nd place finish.  Your average finish is 15 even.  Nice job.

Bosley (Jude) and Tiffany (Jen Y), neither one of your share the same drivers with each other, but both of you ended up with the same average finish.

Bosley, I’ll start with you.  Your worst driver today is Jarrett and his 32nd place finish.  Rusty Wallace finished 12th, with Stewart finishing 8th, Mikey Waltrip 5th and Busch winning the race.

Tiffany, your worst driver today is Nemachek and his 21st place finish.   Johnson had a decent day with his 16th place finish, and his teammate, Terry Labonte, finished 10th.  Your two best drivers this week are Earnhardt and Gordon, who finished 8th and 3rd respectively.

Your average finish is a nice 11.6.   Nice job both of you.

Well, Kelly (Sarah), that leaves you once again to be our TOP ANGEL AWARD WINNER.  Ricky Craven had a great car all afternoon, until around lap 185 when Craven was cut off by Biffle.  He finished 15th.  Terry Labonte finished 10th, with Mark Martin in 9th and Stewart in 8th.  Bobby Labonte is your best finisher today with a 2nd place finish.  Your TAA winning average is a nice 8.8.  Congratulations.

Our teams’ combined average finishes is 12.24.

Next week’s race is the Dodge/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway (formally known as Sonoma) in California.  It’s a 3:30 p.m. race for those watching on the east coast.

Don’t forget to update your drivers by Thursday 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time…and yes this means you Sabrina and Julie.  J

Good luck Angels,

Charlie
