Hello Angels, Bosley, Mr. X and the UnNamed One,

I don’t know if you all saw the race today, or read anything on NASCAR.com, but I definitely agree with NASCAR.com’s assessment of the one-mile track…it’s no longer the “magic-mile,” but now the ”make-you-mad mile.”  J

This is because several drivers were mad at the end of the race…some earlier, like John Andretti who was spun out by Jimmy Spenser on lap-10.  Andretti and crew took the broken car parts and deposited them on Spenser’s hauler.  In another move, Greg Biffle purposely cut Jeff Gordon off during a restart after Gordon failed to let Biffle get a lap back.  As the story goes, Biffle let Gordon lap him just two laps earlier, but was to let Biffle back on the lead-lap if a caution came out.  That didn’t happen…and Biffle retaliated on the track, of which he was called to the NASCAR trailer to talk about it afterwards.  There were other incidents with Ward Burton, Mike Wallace, Tony Stewart and Rusty Wallace too.  For a while I thought I was watching Martinsville instead.

But in the end it was fuel mileage again which determined the winner.  Jeff Gordon led most of the race, but a bad decision not to pit during a caution cost him because everyone else came in.  This put Gordon at a disadvantage when everyone else stayed out on the track during the next caution.  He went from first to 28th and never recovered.  Congratulations to Gordon’s teammate Jimmy Johnson who went on to win the race for his second Winston Cup win for the year

As for our Angels, we had two ties again this week.  This time though it’s for the TOP ANGEL AWARD and for fourth place

I’ll start however with our GOLDEN CABOOSE Award recipient this week

Kris, you are the GCA recipient this week, but it’s not all that bad.  You drivers didn’t do a total meltdown, and everyone else in the Charlie’s Angels’ NASCAR Fantasy League all had problem drivers keeping the average finish low.  For you though, it was Bill Elliott’s gas mileage, which hurt you the most.  He was running in the top-15 when he ran out of gas with three laps left and coasted into the pits.  He finished 31st.  Ward Burton had his problems when he spun Mike Wallace.  Burton went on, but finished 25th.  Gordon’s pit strategy put him in 24th place.  Jimmy Spenser was in 5th when he was spun late in the race and finished 15th.  Your top driver today is Dale Earnhardt Jr., and his 6th place finish.  Your average finish today is a not so bad 20.2.  Much better luck next week though.

Kelly, I believe this is the first week that you didn’t have a driver finish in the Top-10.  The good news for you is that all of your drivers finished 22nd or better.  In that 22nd spot is Tony Stewart who was run into the wall by Rusty Wallace, who thought Stewart purposely got into him.  Tempers, tempers…J  Ricky Craven, who is always a favorite to win in New Hampshire could only muster a 21st place finish.  Terry Labonte, who was having a good race, was penalized after a part of his gas can broke off in his car, bringing out a caution after the contents of the can spilled in the pits, and the broken part came off on the track.  He recovered a little bit, but only to 20th.  Mark Martin, I believe had an uneventful day and finished 18th.  Your top driver is Bobby Labonte who faded in the middle of the race but had a strong late-race comeback and finished 14th.  Your average finish is 19 even.  Better luck next week

Bosley, you and I tie for the 4th spot today.  Like Kelly, none of your drivers finished in the top-10 today…but as a whole, your drivers finished 28th or better.  Mikey Waltrip was black-flagged with 6-laps to go after he hit the wall, and his exhaust pipes became exposed.  He went from 6th place to that 28th-spot where he finished.  I’ve already talked about Stewart’s altercation and his 22nd-place finish.  Well you also have Rusty Wallace on your team too.  He finished 17th.  Ricky Rudd (Go Air Force) had a decent day and finished 12th.  Your top finisher is Kurt Busch in 11th

For me, Mike Wallace was my worst driver, after he was spun out.  He finished 42nd.  Gordon’s 24th didn’t help me much either. Terry Labonte could’ve helped me too, but his 20th place finish didn’t hurt me too badly either.  Having Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson finish third and first definitely helped me though.

Bosley, our average finish today is an even 18.  Hopefully next week we’ll do much better

Mr. X, Jeremy Mayfield has been doing really well as of late…until today of course where a blown tire caused an early exit from the lead lap.  He finished 34th.  You also have the Gibbs teammates of Stewart and Labonte finish 22nd and 14th respectively.  The surprise of the day came when Dale Jarrett finished 7th today.  He’s had such a horrible season so far.  Maybe it is time he races the truck.  J   Kenseth is your top driver with his 3rd place finish.  Your average finish is a not too shabby, 16 even.  Better luck next week.

Tiffany, you had three drivers finish in the top-10 today, but it was Jamie McMurray and Joe Nemachek that kept you out of the top spot today.  McMurray spun and hit the wall pretty hard.  He finished 40th.  Nemachek ran out of gas with a lap or two to go, then couldn’t get restarted.  He finished 29th.  Earnhardt helped you considerably with his 6th place finish.  Kevin Harvick had a great day with his 2nd place finish, while you also had race winner, Johnson, on your team.  Your average finish is 15.6.  Better luck next week.

Jill, you and the UnNamed One, tie for this week’s TOP ANGEL AWARD.  Congratulations to you both, first for you Jill, who wins your second TAA in a row, and to you UnNamed One for making the TAA yours once again.

Neither of you share the same drivers, so, I’ll start with you Jill.  Your worst driver is Gordon and his 24th place finish.  Stewart didn’t do too much better with his 22nd place finish.  Other than that, your drivers were stellar with top-10 finishes.  Jarrett in 7th, Kenseth in 3rd and Johnson winning the race.

UnNamed One, Elliott Sadler, who was never a factor in the race and finished 27th, was your worst driver today.  Busch came back late in the race and finished 11th.  Biffle finished 11th and on the lead lap even after his altercation with Gordon on the restart.  You also have Jarrett and Kenseth on your team.

So, Jill and UnNamed One, your TOP ANGEL AWARD winning average finish today is 11.6.  Congratulations.

Our combined team average finish this week is 13 even.
